Semiconductor Development and Supplies: Armenia Strengthens Cooperation with US Transnational Companies
YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. On Monday, Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with the leaders of US transnational semiconductor companies operating in Armenia to discuss the advancement of semiconductor production and the procedures for controlling technology export and import.
Representatives from Synopsys, AMD, CISCO, Emerson (NI), Siemens, the Investment Support Center, and various technology industry associations were present at the meeting, as reported by the ministry's press service.
The discussion included the development of new opportunities under the memorandum "On Innovative Partnership in Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors," which was signed in Washington on August 8, 2025, as well as the forthcoming steps in this area.
Participants in the meeting highlighted the significance of such discussions as a platform for open, effective, and ongoing communication between the public and private sectors.
Agreements were made to continue collaborative efforts and to develop systematic approaches that will aid in the growth of Armenia's technological ecosystem and improve its international competitiveness.-0-
