President of Kazakhstan announces upcoming opening of TUMO Astana
YEREVAN, November 21. /ARКА/. A branch of the Armenian international educational center TUMO will open in Kazakh capital Astana in 2026, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced during a joint press briefing with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
TUMO Astana will operate out of the Kazakh artificial intelligence center Alem.ai.
According to Tokayev, Pashinyan expressed interest in the work of Alem.ai and the region's largest IT startup technopark, Astana Hub.
"Kazakhstan and Armenia have agreed to exchange experience in artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and digital solutions," the Kazakh leader noted.
He stated that Kazakhstan is undergoing a rapid digital transformation.
"Armenia has achieved significant success in IT technologies and the startup ecosystem. This industry has the potential to give new impetus to the economic development of both countries. In this regard, we agreed to exchange experience in the fields of artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and digital solutions, and discussed prospects for joint projects," Tokayev said.
About the TUMO Center
The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies opened in Armenia in 2011. Currently, approximately 25,000 Armenian teenagers aged 12-18 receive free training in IT using modern technologies (programming, music, robotics, animation, 3D modeling, filmmaking, photography, game development, graphic design, and drawing).
Beyond Armenia, TUMO centers operate in Europe (Paris, Marseille, and Lyon in France; Berlin, Mannheim, Hirscheid, and Lüdenscheid in Germany; Combra and Lisbon in Portugal), the United States (Los Angeles), Japan (Gunma), and Argentina (Buenos Aires). Plans include opening centers in Astana, Montevideo, Luanda, Takasaki, Amsterdam, and Mumbai, india.-0-
