Futurologist Gerd Leonhard names the main threat to humanity

YEREVAN, April 3. /ARKA/. Misuse of technology is the main threat to humanity, Gerd Leonhard, who is among the world's top ten futurologists and the author of the bestseller “Technologies Against Humanity,” said on the margins of Doing Digital Forum 2025 in Yerevan, Armenia.

He said thanks to the development of nuclear power, you can create an atomic bomb, but you can also operate a nuclear power plant, you can create a super soldier, and you can cure cancer.

‘It all depends on how we use technology," Leonhard said when asked by ARKA-Telecom about the main technological threats.

The futurologist added that it is also necessary to manage technology properly. As an example, he cited the fact that the development of technology has led to irreversible climate change.
