Cybergen 4th Cybersecurity Conference To Be Held In Armenia

YEREVAN, May 30. /ARКА/. The 4th CyberGEN cybersecurity conference will be held in Armenia from June 14 to 21, said Director of the Armenian Information Systems Agency Nerses Yeritsyan. According to him, a number of cybersecurity events are planned for the week.

“This event addresses the most important issues – raising awareness of the direction the world is moving in, what risks exist and how we should strengthen ourselves in this regard, and developing capabilities. In particular, this year various exercises and events will be held that are aimed specifically at developing capabilities, and it is also envisaged to further deepen cooperation between the private sector and the state,” Yeritsyan noted at a press conference on Friday.

Komitas Stepanyan, Director of IT and Cybersecurity at the Central Bank of Armenia, for his part, said that about 100 participants from the financial sector have already registered to participate in the event this year, and the registration process is ongoing. According to him, there are participants from the Central Banks of various countries.

"Our main goal is to create a platform in Armenia where cybersecurity specialists can communicate with each other, because cybersecurity is not only about technology, but also about people and knowledge, and with collective knowledge we can significantly counter cybersecurity risks, both in the financial sector and in all critical infrastructures of the country," Stepanyan said.

The previous CyberGEN conference was held in June 2024 in Dilijan, Armenia. Speakers from such well-known organizations as Trellix, AWS, SimSpace, OpenText Cybersecurity, Google Cloud, CQURE, Kaspersky, F5 spoke. -0-
