YEREVAN, November 18. /ARКА/. A Cloudflare outage has paralyzed access to many news websites in Armenia, reported Armenian information security expert and co-founder of CyberHUB-AM Artur Papyan.

"Today, as of 3:48 PM, Cloudflare, the world's largest platform providing DDoS attack protection and content availability, encountered an issue that has rendered many Armenian news websites inaccessible. Full functionality of some websites has not yet been restored," Papyan reported on his Facebook page.

The bad news, he added, is that Cloudflare itself is still "working to fully understand and mitigate the impact of this issue," according to a statement from Cloudflare.

"I'm coming to the conclusion that they haven't even fully understood the cause of the problem yet, to assess how widespread it is and who it's impacted," Papyan noted.

The expert reported that, according to international news reports, the problem has even affected X, ChatGPT, and other major platforms.

"It's moments like these that make you realize how great our internet dependence, and that of the entire world, is on a few hyper-centralized, super-large services that provide infrastructure," Papyan concluded.-0-
