YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. The American multinational company Cisco International Limited will help Armenia develop technological education. A corresponding memorandum of understanding was signed yesterday between the company and the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
Cisco also signed memorandums of understanding with the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies and the Technological Education Foundation, the ministry's press service reported.
Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized that this cooperation opens new opportunities for all signatories. He stated that the activities of every technology company operating here are important to the Armenian state, but the fact that some companies are making strategic investments in human capital development programs aimed at developing professional potential, stimulating education, and fostering innovation is particularly commendable.
"Cisco is one of those companies that is joining the government's efforts to contribute to the formation of a competitive economy." "With this memorandum, we are strengthening this cooperation by providing students with access to modern educational programs in technology—from cybersecurity to network automation," the minister noted.
The memorandum is based on the Cisco Networking Academy program, which aims to train specialists with the knowledge and skills necessary to design, build, and maintain computer networks.
The introduction of this academic initiative into Armenia's educational system will contribute to the development of the technological skills of the younger generation and advance the country's digital transformation.
The event was also attended by Saro Khachatryan and Ahmed El-Kabani, two directors of digital programs at Cisco Systems, as well as representatives of partner organizations—Bekor Papazyan, Development Director of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, and Levon Tadevosyan, Executive Director of the Technological Education Foundation.
