Artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology, and space innovations: Armenia and United States enhance their technological collaboration
YEREVAN, September 12. /ARКА/. For the Armenian government, the ongoing development and strengthening of ties with the United States is a strategic imperative, Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan said at a meeting with a delegation led by Brendan Henrehen, the head of the US State Department's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
As reported by the ministry's press service, Hayrapetyan expressed his belief that the visit of the American delegation will greatly aid in the effective execution of the initiatives outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Armenia and the United States, signed on August 8, which pertains to innovative collaboration in the domains of artificial intelligence and semiconductors. He emphasized that this partnership presents extensive opportunities for the advancement of the Armenian economy.
The State Department representative remarked that the details of this US memorandum highlight the significant potential for collaboration between the two nations in the technological sector.
The participants engaged in discussions covering a broad spectrum of topics, particularly the prospects for developing a cohesive policy in the realm of artificial intelligence, investing in Armenia's semiconductor ecosystem, and enhancing capabilities in chip design, identification, and testing.
They also addressed the expansion of American multinational companies' involvement in Armenia, the encouragement of investments, the streamlining of export processes, the execution of research and development (R&D) initiatives, the provision of an export permit to Firebird for the infrastructure designated for the AI Data Center, and the enhancement of existing solutions.
Special emphasis was placed on broadening cooperation in cybersecurity and space technologies, along with exploring additional areas for the future growth of technological relations between Armenia and the United States.-0-
