Armenia and Google discuss cooperation prospects
YEREVAN, September 20 /ARKA/. Armenian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan received a delegation from Google, noting the importance of developing relations with the company, given the ministry's involvement in Armenia's digitalization strategy for 2021-2025, as well as the need to digitalize educational processes.
The Deputy Minister reported that Armenia is at an active stage of education reforms paying great attention to the use of digital technologies and the development of digital literacy.
Google representatives reported that they have a number of programs and platforms that help teachers, students and administrative staff effectively organize the educational process, as well as online courses, conferences and meetings. In this context, the parties also noted the importance of a high level of personal data protection.
During the meeting they also touched upon the use of artificial intelligence in education. Martirosyan reported that since September 2023, an experimental educational program has been implemented in 7 regional and 15 high schools in Yerevan, involving about 500 students from all over Armenia.
Touching upon the prospects of cooperation in protecting cultural heritage, Olga Skorokhodova, a representative of the Google company, spoke about the ‘’Google Arts and Culture’’, where the cultural heritage of Armenia is also presented.
According to her, the platform provides an opportunity for the international community to get acquainted with the rich history, art, cultural values of Armenia, as well as various elements of Armenian culture - khachkars, medieval architecture, contemporary art.
In this context, the parties agreed to explore the possibilities of digitalization of collections of museums, cultural institutions and libraries of Armenia. The issues of availability of reliable cloud storage were also touched upon.
The company representatives noted that numerous Google tools and services are also available in Armenian, which helps create a more comfortable and efficient environment for Armenian-speaking users. –0--
