“Armenia is the best place in Europe for new talents": Microchip Technology opens new office in Yerevan
YEREVAN, March 3. /ARKA/. The office of the American company Microchip Technology was inaugurated in Yerevan on Monday. Vice President for Marketing, Strategy and Client Application Solutions Shakil Pira told reporters that the company has been working in Armenia since 2020, when it started cooperation with Armenian company Instigate.
Rajiv Jarayaman, the company's Senior Director of Software and Engineering Solutions, said, “If you want to recruit new talent in Europe, you can't find a better place than Armenia. So, in March 2023, we decided to start negotiations with Instigate to actually acquire this business,” he said, noting that the company will maintain its presence not only in Yerevan, but also in the regions of Armenia.
Armenian Minister of High Technology Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized the importance of opening an office of such a large company in Armenia.
“I should say that the fact that such companies as Microchip Technology open their offices in our country shows that the policy of turning Armenia not only into a regional, but also into an international technological center gives its results,” the minister said.
He noted that the cooperation with Microchip Technology is important in the sense that it is based on the principle of mutual benefit.
“Firstly, the state wins, because it has a positive impact on the development of our economy, jobs are opened, and I already know that 65 employees are involved. Secondly, it is beneficial for the supranational company in terms of attracting new talent and expanding production and research capabilities. That interaction, which is based on long-term mutual benefit, will be long-lasting,” Hayrapetyan said.
