YEREVAN, October 31. /ARКА/. Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan discussed developing technological cooperation and cybersecurity issues with a delegation from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

According to the press service of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, during the meeting with Andrew Venecoter, Head of Security Regulation in Europe, and Mary Corcione, General Counsel for the Mediterranean Europe Region, ongoing legislative reforms in the technology sector were discussed, in particular, AWS's global experience and recommendations for cybersecurity management, as well as promoting mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of innovative projects.

Hayrapetyan emphasized the importance of cooperation with AWS in terms of developing the country's tech ecosystem and expanding international partnerships, noting that AWS's European sovereign cloud service aligns with Armenia's strategic vision, combining data security, innovative development, and economic progress.

Venecoter, in turn, presented the company's experience in ensuring cybersecurity for its own infrastructure and clients, as well as in the areas of data processing policy and artificial intelligence (AI).

The AWS delegation representatives praised Armenia's steady and consistent progress in digitalization, as well as its targeted efforts to implement advanced technologies.
The parties emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and the implementation of joint projects aimed at unlocking Armenia's technological potential.

On October 28, Hayrapetyan announced in parliament that a virtual AI institute is being created in Armenia in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (USA) and Mistral AI (France) – a virtual platform aimed at stimulating and supporting AI researchers and startups, as well as research institutes and universities.
